Job Description

Job Elements: -

  • €’ Working closely with the Sponsorship Manager, the Sponsorship Account Manager will be responsible for building relationships with a number of key partners of the Welsh Rugby Union Group specifically within the Community Rugby arena.

  • €’ Effectively manage the delivery of the sponsor’s contract.

  • €’ Organise and administer all sponsorship delivery activities.

  • €’ Lead on delivering all commercial rights in relation to the sponsor’s contract at the events

  • €’ Deliver client service to the WRU group community partners.

  • €’ Develop strong relationships with the WRU member clubs to effectively deliver Group community programmes and advise on commercial opportunities for clubs.

  • €’ Actively support the Commercial and Sponsorship Managers in integrating any new partner organisations as required into the Commercial department.

  • €’ Effectively manage the complete integration of new partners to the commercial programme.

  • €’ Identify and deliver and manage the full delivery of commercial programmes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • €’ Experience of working within a rugby environment.

  • €’ Practical sponsorship account management/activation experience.

  • €’ Excellent understanding and management of sponsorship contracts.

  • €’ Experience of working with event organisers and national sports federations.

  • €’ The ability to work their own initiative, effectively both as an individual and as part of a team.

  • €’ Project management experience is advantageous with clear evidence of delivery within structured timescales.

  • €’ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and manage customer relationships both internally and externally.

  • €’ Educated to degree level - preferable.

  • €’ Previous experience of working in a commercial/ client facing environment required. (2 – 3 years experience preferable).

  • €’ Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
