| MICROBIOLOGY TECHNICIAN - UP TO £20,000 PER ANNUM The Company: Our client is a European provider of contract manufacturing and packing for Personal & Home care brand owners in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods market, and are looking for a microbiology technician to join their successful team. The Role: Responsible for the environmental monitoring and training within the manufacturing and production areas including maintenance of the De-min plant water system. Supporting the Microbiology Team with the day to day testing and maintenance of the Microbiology lab. Laboratory testing: ·Analysis of swabs (Traditional and Rapid method) and settle plates collected during environmental monitoring activities. · Analysis of De-min water quality throughout the plant. · Analysis of chemical agents used in manufacturing and production areas for cleaning and sanitisation of equipment· Identification work · Product testing using Traditional and Rapid methods. Laboratory Administration: · To ensure accurate record keeping in compliance with GMP/GLP requirements (ISO 9001/2000). · Laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance. · Reporting of data and issues to the Microbiology team leader and internal customers in a timely manner. · Responsible for reporting environmental monitoring activities within the plant. · Auditing and reviewing company Cleaning and Sanitisation processes and procedures in line with customer expectations and requirements. · Liaising with approved suppliers of cleaning and sanitising agents used in manufacturing and production areas. · Responsible for auditing cleaning and sanitisation logs throughout the plant and liaising with production managers on any non-conformances. Plant Hygiene: · Responsible for conducting environmental monitoring activities within manufacturing and production areas including analysis and maintenance of the De-min water plant water quality. · Liaising with the engineering department on De-min plant maintenance activities and coordinating the system sanitisation program. · Responsible for the training and development of manufacturing and production operatives on the cleaning and sanitisation of equipment and environmental monitoring. · Responsible for conducting equipment cleaning and sanitisation validation work within manufacturing and production areas. · Liaising with production managers on non-conformances identified. · GMP and environmental auditing of Manufacturing and Production areas. Project Work: · Continuous improvement activities/ projects driven by departmental KPI’s. · Responsible for investigating and validating environmental monitoring rapid testing techniques. The Candidate: Qualified to Degree level/HND level with experience of Microbiology/environmental Microbiology, sound knowledge of Quality systems and techniques. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Good PC skills, experienced in auditing Resilient, proactive and organised. The Benefits: 26 days Holidays Eligible to join the company pension scheme after one year service. Company six pay is 6 weeks full pay and six weeks half pay, depending on length of service.
