ENGINEERING MANAGER
Our client, a rapidly expanding business, are looking for a suitably qualified engineer to be responsible for projects, installation, fault finding and repair, stores control, planned preventative maintenance of all plant machinery and budget controls.
Main responsibilities;
- Responsible for Company’s Engineering Operations, including engineering compliance with Food Safety legislation.
- Engineering support to and regular liaison with the Production Departments.
- Maintenance of and amendments to the Company engineering management system
- Engineering liaison with customers and suppliers.
- Planned Maintenance.
- Selecting and approving external engineering contractors, in association with the H&S Coordinator.
- Departmental Budget.
- Departmental discipline & recruitment.
- Ensuring that engineering operations and recommendations are at all times compliant with Health & Safety legislation as per the Company Health & Safety System.
- Monitoring engineering quality standards against customer expectations.
- Monitoring that engineering corrective actions are undertaken to prevent the future re-occurrence of a non -conformity.
- Ensuring that all Department Staff are properly trained and, where necessary, certificated, to carry out their duties in a safe and efficient manner, and commensurate with their work activities.
- Ensuring security, including the control of damage and loss, within the Department.
- Maintenance, via routine internal testing and routine external maintenance, of the Company's security and alarm systems.
- To support and assist the Works Director in the achievement of Company Production Objectives.
- Supervise four engineers
Required skills / experience;
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the food industry
- Good man management skills
- Team player
- Self motivated
