Our client is looking for a Residential Childcare Officer to support the Registered Manager to provide residential care to children and young people placed in the children’s home.
You will be an effective role model, as would a parent, and to challenge where appropriate the behaviours and attitudes of those young people in your care, as well as ensuring high standards of physical, emotional and social care, security, safety and wellbeing.
The successful candidate must have good written and verbal skills, be educated to GCSE level and hold NVQ Level 3 – ‘Caring for Children and Young People’ or be committed to working towards it.
You will also need at least one year’s experience of working with children or young people in a similar setting.
We have two houses which house 4 young people in each. At present we have staff covering each house 24/7 wakeful nights. Hours worked 0700-1920hrs and 1900hrs – 0720hrs.
